How spirituality is different from religion.

Spirituality is becoming aware of the fact that we are not just bodies made of matter, we are not just 5 senses through which we see, hear, touch, taste, and smell the world, we are not the mind and concluding we are pure consciousness or awareness. But religion is about being moral. Cambridge dictionary defines moral as ‘relating to the standards of good or bad behavior, fairness, honesty, etc. That each person believes in, rather than to laws.’

Religion or morality tells us to be kind to fellow human beings and spirituality speaks nothing in particular but tells just to be aware of everything you do, speak, and think through which you come to a point that you naturally be kind to fellow humans.

Being moral is possible but it is not easy and sometimes we become attached to the pleasures and don’t follow morals. But in spirituality things happen on their own and what is needed on our part is to be aware or conscious which is also hard in the beginning because we are doing the opposite of it from birth till now. So it is hard. But that is the right way to become a human being not just human.
